Commendations 2010.

In an effort to encourage preservation of historic places in Chesterfield Township, the Chesterfield Township Historical Society recently awarded commendations to three township organizations recognizing their achievement in doing so.

These groups were presented a commendation by President Amy Coover at the Annual General Membership Meeting on January 31, 2010.

Doris Thorn represents the Chesterfield Baptist Church. The Church recently underwent extensive renovations to the front extending the size of the church.  The integrity of the beautiful entryway was maintained throughout the renovations.

William Brick represents the Crosswicks Foundation. The Foundation has been instrumental in preserving several buildings in the township.  Most recently is the property located at Two Front Street in Crosswicks.  This beautiful home and barn is now being used by the Historical Society as their Headquarters.  The home is open during community functions.

Tom Leyden and Karl Braun represent the Crosswicks Inn.  The Inn is located in the heart of Crosswicks.  This was originally a stagecoach stop and hotel.

We applaud the efforts of these organizations.  Because of their efforts Chesterfield remains a beautiful place in which to live.
