Drug Alliance

C.T.A.S.A. - Chesterfield Township Against Substance Abuse the Chesterfield Township Alliance was established in 1990 as part of the the N.J. Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse.  The Alliance is made up of volunteers who plan, coordinate and conduct alcoholism, tobacco and other drug abuse prevention activities as a community based prevention program.  The Chesterfield Alliance was established by the Township Committee and has representatives from education, health, law enforcement, civic and business organizations.  C.T.A.S.A. has completed needs assessments, the most recent one in 2004.  They submit a yearly grant based on needs assessment and receive approval from the LACADA (Local Advisory Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse).  Funding for the Alliances is provided by Drug Enforcement Demand Reduction (DEDR) funds and some municipal matching funds.

To date the Alliance has funded assemblies and drug education efforts at the elementary school, Red Ribbon Week, the D.A.R.E. program for 6 th grade, the Summer alternative Activity Program, a Chesterfield High School student at ANYTOWN, the Peer Mediation programs at Northern Burlington and Chesterfield and in the past, the post Prom Activities at Northern Burlington.

A letter to all Chesterfield Residents from the United States Postal Service

Dear Postal Customers of Chesterfield Township,

Chesterfield Township requested that the U.S. Postal Service review your delivery area with the intent of consolidating Chesterfield Township under the Zip Code of 08515.  The proposal to change the mailing address last line was based solely on the request of Chesterfield Township and was not initiated by the United States Postal Service.  In May 2005, the U.S. Postal Service complied with the request and surveyed the residents of Chesterfield who receive mail delivery from Allentown, NJ 08501; Bordentown, NJ 08505; Columbus, NJ 08022; Trenton, NJ 08620; Wrightstown, NJ 08562 and Yardville, NJ 08620.  The intent of the survey was to seek customer approval to realign the delivery territory and unify mailing addresses for the residents of Chesterfield Township.

The survey results produced an overwhelming response in favor of the proposal.  The last line of your address will be replaced with Chesterfield, NJ  08515.

Example:

Your Old Address: (House Number) (Street Name)
(Allentown, NJ  08501 or Bordentown, NJ 08505 or Columbus, NJ 08022 or Trenton, NJ 08620 or Wrightstown, NJ 08562 or Yardville, NJ 08620)

Your New Address: (House Number) (Street Name)
  Chesterfield, NJ  08515

This change will take effect on Saturday, June 24, 2006.  Please notify all your correspondents of your new address.  You do not need to file a change of address form with the U.S. Postal Service.  Mail exhibiting your old address will be forwarded free of charge for one year from the effective date.  Notices left for Express Mail, Registered Mail, Certified Mail, Parcel Post etc. will be available for pick up at the Crosswicks Post Office located at 3 New Street, Telephone Number (609) 298-6407.

If you have any questions, please contact Joseph Procida, Central New Jersey District Growth Manager, at (732) 819-3648.
