In 1999, the Chesterfield Township Police Department established a Community Policing Unit.  Ptl. Brian Schoen was placed in charge and his duties include but are not limited to, DARE instruction at the local schools, liaison to the Senior Citizens Organization (Keen Agers), liaison to civic organizations and liaison to the Emergency Services i.e.. volunteer fire companies and emergency squads.

The Chesterfield Township Police Department is committed to community policing and cooperates with the Burlington County Sheriffs Department, Burlington County Prosecutors Office and surrounding municipalities to ensure the programs are a success.
